Words of encouragement are Spirit filled. This is how our loving God fills our soul. Snark is not from God. Keep going on the narrow, you are on the right track. As soon as you feel you are going in the flow of the flesh, stop and pray. God will encourage you.
Thank you, Geoffrey. I certainly do not think "snark" is in any way from God! I am simply speaking of my own very emotional and visceral journey out of being a Prodigal and the darkness and cynicism I fled from, back to God and His Son. It is still a rough road but I find help and counsel and comfort every day from God. I write in the hope that my blunt experiences in rebellion with help even one other person to stop, repent, ask God for help moment by moment and get back on the narrow path. I will never walk off it again, believe me. God and His Son are so much better than anything the world offers. Blessings to you, Geoffrey, you are a powerful writer. WEW
Thank you for this rich and revealing testimony, Wendy. I'm glad to know you're connected to a church, that you are an obsessive editor, and that you have the opportunity to encourage the brokenhearted. I wish you well in following the counsel of the Holy Spirit, and I will seek to do likewise as the same advice could easily apply to me!
Charles, thank you for your kind comment on my most recent writing piece. I would imagine anyone who writes more than a handful of times, will go through the "obsessive" editing process. I think what Holy Spirit was nudging me to do was to gently allow Him to work through me and hand over the steering wheel so He can speak through me. I do have a wonderful church, for which I am profoundly grateful. You write deep and measured pieces as well and I bless your efforts to share what God does through each of us flawed human beings! Substack Notes can certainly be an encouragement to each of us. God bless you, Charles! WEW
