You noted the different facial structures of the women in the 50’s and 60’s. We just watched “It’s a wonderful Life” again for the umpteenth time. This time it struck me how absolutely beautiful Donna Reed was.
Charles, thank you for your comment on a piece I wrote awhile ago. I agree, Donna Reed was beautiful. I do see a hardness creeping in to women's faces in recent decades, as the nurturing gifts of women have been dismissed and denigrated. I grieve for this, even as in my own youth as a Boomer, I also scoffed at the feminine. Stupid, stupid stupid, for me and so many who lost an innocence and became more hard and cold. I do have some hope, as it seems more young women and young people are turning away from the "woke" and turning back towards honorable traditions. Thank you again for your thoughful comment, I sincerely appreciate it! Blessings to you and yours at this great Christmas season of renewal and hope. Wendy
I watched the feminist movement as a male boomer (1952). Had no idea how evil it was at the time but didn’t like it nonetheless. Looking back now, I am convinced that feminism was/is the devil’s biggest victory. It is how they got moms to work 40 hours a week. Exposed mom to workplace flirting and left the kids at home with the telephone tv set soda pop and potato chips. Gave the public schools exclusive domain over the kids. The nuclear family with a strong masculine dad was imploded. Evil genius it was
Charles, I get it. I have written about what I call "the war between men and women" , that centuries-long battle between the two tribes of humanity. Both sides have their legitimate "beefs" but all the battling is not good and it solves nothing. Women have been mistreated by men and men have been mistreated by women, it truly goes both ways. When I was a feminist in youth, I was on the angry defensive and shouting and yelling and rambling, etc. Much of my own Substack is on the subject of the utter filthy chaos of the sexual revolution for the Boomers and the devastating effect it had on me and so many others. While it is too late for me to change what I went through, I can at least write about "what not to do", in the hopes that even one person will turn away from rebellion and simply bring their sorrows directly to God. Both men and women have much inner cleansing and healing to do. I advocate for a detente between them and a way for God to be the Heavenly Father we all so desperately need, for our own healing FIRST. Blessings to you and yours, Wendy
