Oregon Lady-Wendy Elizabeth. How gracious are your words. I think we all know that stab of pain when we notice we have lost a subscriber. I rarely look at stats as that is not what I'm here for but it doesn't forestall that moment of "what'd I SAY",in my case,Everything. I sometimes post a Thank You to the few kind souls who look at my posts plus an explanation for why I don't engage much. It is,yes, partly rudeness, social grace has never been an attribute God gave me much of but also I want to keep a distance so as to say exactly what I think on the vexatious lies we are fed every day. Except its now so obvious the vexatious lies are INTENDED to ANGER and DISTURB us that I feel I've said enough and maybe it's just PLAYING THEIR GAME to react. What I'm trying to say is I 'get where you're coming from' but I feel your words are so much more charming and gracious than mine in a similar situation. I do ramble on! Remember back in the 1970s "they" used to say,in order to refute all critiscm "dont knock it till youve tried it",well you tried it so you're well qualified to knock it. Of course what those very nasty people do,or did, they still do,is to turn round with their venomous bites, they are human Komodo dragons, and say,"you tried it,you are morally compromised,ok we did it all the timr but we are the intelligentsia literati and we have each others backs" (for sure eh). But you, you're not in our CLUB and you did it,found out it was harmful and evil and you're telling everybody so we are going to DESTROY YOU - Russell Brand - by declaiming you as morally compromised and immoral for doing the sort of things we spent decades writing highly literate and deeply boring books about.
Jane, thank you! I agree that there are sometimes some hurtful people here on Notes and as much as I attempt to avoid them, sometimes it does hurt when they hurl unpleasant words at me. I have a legendary sharp tongue and I have had to learn, with God’s patient help, to temper that sharpness and to respond with humility and kindness and then to simply move on and not further engage. Some people are “provacateurs” and seem to live to provoke, and how sad that is! You have a focus and intensity, which can help your own writing. Each of us who writes, has our own “crucible” which propels us through the field of woes at times. We keep on because…that is the gift of words God gave us. Bless you, dear Jane, Wendy
Paul Christopher, thank you, same back to you! In my Wednesday Discipleship class tonight , my Pastor shared a video of a well-known Pastor’s message for Holy Week, especially for Good Friday: “It’s Friday…but Sunday’s coming!” Amen to the Resurrection of Jesus Christ, Who conquered the grave and lives to Intercede for all of us! I look forward to my first morning in Heaven with Him and His Papa and all those I love, who have gone ahead of me! Blessings to you, Wendy
Happy Easter, Wendy ! ... Holy Week is always a thoughtful, prayerful time for me ... Thinking of how Jesus told Lazarus that he was close to the Kingdom of God ... And how ( as a young altar boy ) we would celebrate Jesus' triumphant entry into Jerusalem on Palm Sunday, celebrated by the populace, then just 5 days later, those same people are screaming for His crucifixion.
Like Lazarus, they too, were so close to the Kingdom of God --- What happened ? ... what a fine line it is to allow Evil to displace the Holy Spirit in our lives & thoughts.
Baltimoracle, I agree 100%. After spending 35 years as a Prodigal, away from my faith in God and His Son, when I stumbled back Home, from the relentless efforts of the Hound of Heaven (Holy Spirit, as Billy Graham called Him), I was a true mess. I was, however, surrounded by the immense mercy of God. He did not magically erase my mistakes…but His mercy allowed me to slowly rebuild my life and to begin to trust Him. Repentance is so powerful. It is a day by day fellowship and relationship, not “religion”. Praise God for His love for us all! I hang out with God every single day, I look foward to it.
